Is resistance training good for weight loss?

I've started going to the gym and my trainer suggested incorporating resistance training. My main goal is weight loss. Is resistance training actually good for weight loss, or should I focus more on cardio? I want to make sure I'm doing the right kind of exercises.

Beta, weight loss is not just about skipping meals or drinking green tea all day. Adding some light strength training or resistance bands at home actually builds muscle and helps burn fat much faster. It worked wonders for my joint pains too.

Dekho boss, directly bolu toh yes. Sirf cardio karne se skin loose ho jayegi. Weight lifting ya resistance training karo, muscle banta hai toh fat apne aap jaldi burn hota hai. Diet clean rakho bas.

In our younger days, we thought only running was good for health. But from my experience of staying fit in my 60s, keeping your muscles strong with resistance training is highly effective for keeping the weight off permanently.

I have helped many ladies in our housing society with their fitness routines. Resistance training is excellent because it increases your resting metabolic rate, meaning you burn calories even when resting. Start slow with light weights.

Absolutely! I track my active calories and muscle mass daily on my smart scale. Resistance training spikes your EPOC (afterburn effect), keeping your metabolism high for hours post-workout. It is a game-changer for fat loss.
