Is raw honey safe during pregnancy?

I'm pregnant and craving something sweet, but also trying to eat healthy. My mom said raw honey is full of nutrients, but I've also heard some things about it not being safe for pregnant women. Can I have raw honey safely during pregnancy?

I totally understand the anxiety of questioning every single thing you eat during pregnancy, I was the exact same way. Most doctors say raw honey is fine for adults because our mature digestive systems can handle it, unlike infants. But do check with your OB-GYN to put your mind at ease.

During my time, we used honey for coughs during pregnancy since we couldn't take heavy medicines. It is generally safe, but please ensure it is from a highly trusted and clean source. If you feel any stomach discomfort or cramping, stop immediately and talk to your doctor.

My wife continued having a little honey in her oats during pregnancy and she was completely fine. It is safe for pregnant women, but just watch the sugar spikes since gestational diabetes is a real thing. Keep your activity levels up if your doctor allows.

Yes, raw honey is safe during pregnancy because a healthy adult's stomach acid easily neutralizes the botulism spores. Just buy pasteurized honey if you want to be 100% stress-free. Always a good idea to confirm with your doctor at your next scan.

Honestly, do not trust what people say on forums when it comes to pregnancy safety. Raw foods carry risks of bacteria which can be dangerous right now. Just call your doctor's clinic and ask them directly before eating it.
