Is protein important for weight loss?

I'm starting a new fitness journey to lose weight, and my trainer emphasized protein a lot. Is protein really that important for weight loss, or can I just focus on exercise?

Absolutely, it is non-negotiable. If you try to lose weight without enough protein, you will end up losing muscle mass instead of fat, which will ruin your metabolism. Keep your protein intake high and lift some weights if you want a toned look.

Yes, protein helps repair the muscles you use during workouts. Along with a good protein diet, try to walk at least 8,000 to 10,000 steps daily or do some light strength training if your doctor permits. It makes a huge difference in how fast you see results.

As a massive foodie, protein has been my savior during my weight loss phases! It actually keeps you so full that you don't feel like snacking on samosas or momos every two hours. I just make sure to have boiled eggs or paneer tikka before going out so I don't overeat.

Managing weight with PCOS is extremely tricky, and protein has helped me stabilize my insulin spikes. However, we have to be careful with dairy-based protein if it triggers inflammation. I suggest talking to your gynecologist or endocrinologist to see what protein sources suit your hormone levels best.

Yes, it is very important. Eating enough protein stopped my late-night sugar cravings completely.

I used to panic that cutting carbs and adding protein would make me weak or gain weight instead. But once my body adjusted, I realized it is the most natural way to lose fat without starving. Don't worry about the initial scale changes, just focus on eating clean.
