Is pork belly healthy for weight loss?

I'm trying to follow a high-protein diet to lose weight, and I've heard some buzz about pork belly being good for you. But it also seems very fatty. Is pork belly actually healthy for weight loss, or should I avoid it?

Pork belly is extremely high in saturated fats, which is not ideal if you are trying to stay healthy or lose weight. I have to manage my blood sugar and cholesterol strictly, so I avoid such heavy cuts. Stick to lean protein sources instead.

I was looking at a keto recipe using pork belly, but the amount of fat in it actually scared me. Does anyone else feel like eating such heavy fatty foods makes them feel incredibly bloated and heavy the next day?

I am quite new to planning my own healthy meals and everything is a bit confusing. Is pork belly really that different from regular lean pork or chicken? Should I just avoid it completely if I am starting my fitness journey?

Pork belly contains mostly fat layers, which might not align with a safe weight loss plan. Before you make any major changes to your diet with such rich foods, please consult a physician to make sure it won't impact your liver or heart health.

In our family, elders always say that heavy meats like pork belly are very hard to digest and can lead to sluggishness. While we respect traditional wisdom, our family doctor also advised us to avoid high-fat meats for weight management. It is best to follow professional advice.

I have been reading up on different diets lately and pork belly is popular in low-carb communities, but for standard weight loss, the calorie count seems way too high. It seems hard to maintain a calorie deficit with such a fatty cut.

With my high blood pressure, my cardiologist strictly warned me against fatty meats like pork belly. Such foods can affect your lipid profile and blood vessels quickly. Focus on lifestyle changes, walking, and get your cholesterol checked regularly.
