Is pilates good for weight loss?

My wife has been doing pilates and says it's great for fitness. I'm trying to lose some weight that I gained during the pandemic. Is pilates good for weight loss for men too, or is it more for women?

Pilates is excellent for building core strength and flexibility, but if weight loss is your main goal, you might need something more intense or combine it with cardio. I once relied only on one type of exercise and didn't see results, which was disheartening. Please get a proper diet and exercise plan from an expert.

My daughter does pilates and it has helped her with her posture and overall strength. For weight loss, it's a good supportive exercise, but don't expect dramatic results from just pilates. Maybe add some brisk walking or jogging, beta, along with watching what you eat. Take care.

Pilates is great for overall fitness and body toning, which is important for health, especially as you age. For weight loss specifically, it needs to be part of a larger plan with diet and maybe some cardio. I manage my BP with lifestyle changes, and exercise is key, but it's always good to consult a doc for a tailored plan.

I'm thinking of starting pilates too for weight loss. Has anyone here actually lost significant weight just by doing pilates? I'm a bit anxious it won't be enough, I feel like I need something more intense. Please share your experiences if you can.

While pilates is beneficial for strength and flexibility, relying solely on it for major weight loss might not be effective for everyone. I've seen situations where people over-exercised or didn't get proper guidance. It's really best to consult a fitness expert or a doctor before starting any new regime for weight loss, especially if you have underlying conditions.
