Is orzo good for weight loss?
I'm trying to cut down on carbs and lose some weight. I love pasta, and I've heard about orzo as a healthier alternative. Is orzo good for weight loss compared to regular pasta? Or should I avoid it completely?

Honestly, orzo is just a type of pasta shaped like rice, so it's mostly refined flour unless you find a whole-wheat version. If you are tracking calories, it can fit in your diet in moderation, but don't treat it as a miracle weight loss food. Better to consult your clinical nutritionist or doctor to see if it suits your specific meal plan.
I was also curious about this last year and did some reading. Orzo actually has a high glycemic index because it is usually made from semolina, which can spike sugar and make you hungry sooner. My general physician told me to opt for brown rice, quinoa, or daliya instead of orzo if weight loss is the main goal. It's much better for satiety.
I tried substituting rice with orzo for a few weeks because it looked so fancy on Instagram! But honestly, it didn't keep me full for long and I kept snacking. If you really love it, just mix it with lots of paneer and broccoli to get some protein and fiber in, otherwise regular home food is best.
I completely understand how stressful it is to constantly worry about what to eat when trying to lose weight, I used to overthink every single ingredient. Don't worry too much about orzo being 'good' or 'bad'. Just try to focus on portion control and maybe have it occasionally so you don't feel deprived.

Haan na, looking at it we feel it is healthy like rice or daliya, but actually it is just white pasta only. If you make it with lots of veggies and some olive oil, once in a while it is fine. But daily eating this won't help much with weight loss, thoda normal rice or oats are safer options yaar.
