Is one meal a day good for weight loss?

I'm trying to lose some weight after my pregnancy, and someone suggested I try eating only one meal a day. Is this actually a good way to lose weight and is it safe? I'm worried about feeling too weak.

I totally get it, we all want fast results when trying to shed some weight. But eating just once a day is so hard to sustain and might make you feel super weak or dizzy. It is better to go for portion control instead of going to such extremes, trust me.

Honestly, doing this one meal a day stuff completely ruined my metabolism because I had underlying thyroid issues that I didn't know about. Please get a full blood panel and thyroid test done first before starving yourself. Your body needs constant fuel, so always check with your doc before such big changes.

My grandmother always says that starving the body is never the way to stay healthy and we should eat on time. Still, modern diets are different, so I asked our family doctor about OMAD. He told me it can cause acidity issues and suggested balanced meals instead.

I tried this extreme one meal a day plan last year and ignored the constant stomach pain and acidity thinking it was normal weight loss struggle. It turned out to be severe gastritis and I had to be on meds for months. Please do not ignore what your body is telling you, get a proper doctor checkup first.

It might work for a few days but it is very difficult to keep up. Please do not force yourself if you start feeling weak or tired. Try to eat normal home food in smaller portions throughout the day.
