Is omad diet good for diabetics?
My friend, who is also diabetic, has started doing OMAD (One Meal A Day) and says it's helping him manage his sugar levels. I'm curious, is the OMAD diet actually good or even safe for diabetics like us?

Honestly, eating just one meal a day can cause massive blood sugar swings for a diabetic. It might sound like a quick fix, but your body needs consistent energy. Better to check with your doctor before trying anything so extreme, as they know your body's limits.
Please don't jump into this blindly, okay? I know we get tempted to try new trends to manage sugar, but OMAD can cause sudden hypos which are very dangerous. Take it easy and talk to your regular doctor first. We want you safe, not experimental with health.
OMAD sounds very risky for diabetes actually. If you eat all your carbs in just one single window, your insulin levels will spike like crazy. It is much safer to focus on high-fiber vegetarian meals spaced throughout the day instead.
With our hectic office schedules, going without food all day and then eating one huge meal is super tough to manage anyway. Especially if you are on diabetic meds, timing is everything. Better to stick to simple, regular meals and avoid these complex diet trends.
Instead of going for extreme diets like OMAD, why not try simple portion control and regular physical activity? A 20-minute brisk walk after your main meals does wonders for insulin sensitivity. Just clear it with your doctor first.

I get so anxious just reading about OMAD, I can't imagine doing it with diabetes. What if your sugar drops in the middle of the night and you are fast asleep? Please do consult a proper specialist before trying this, it really worries me.
I track my glucose levels on a CGM and even minor fasting changes show up immediately. If you have diabetes, OMAD can seriously mess up your daily charts and time-in-range. Check your reports and discuss a sustainable plan with your doctor.
