Is oatmeal ok for weight loss?

I'm looking to shed a few kilos and have started exercising regularly. I've heard that oatmeal is a great breakfast choice for weight loss, is that true?

Oatmeal is great for metabolism, but if your weight won't budge, please check your thyroid levels. I kept changing my breakfast to oats without realizing my TSH was sky-high. Regular blood tests and doctor follow-ups are crucial.

I started eating oats last week for weight loss but I feel so bloated after having them. Is this normal? Did anyone else feel heavy or anxious about their digestion when starting oatmeal?

My daughter struggled with college weight gain and started eating oats daily. We make sure she gets plain rolled oats with a few almonds and apple slices. It really helped her lose weight healthily without losing energy.

Oats are fine, but sudden weight gain or difficulty losing it can be a sign of underlying issues. I ignored my symptoms for a year thinking a simple diet would fix it, only to find out I had severe metabolic issues. Please get a full blood panel done.

In my sixty years, I have seen many diet trends come and go. Oats are genuinely good because they keep you full for longer, preventing overeating. Just stay consistent with your physical activity and you will see natural weight loss.
