Is niacin safe in pregnancy?

My doctor recommended a multivitamin with niacin, but I'm in my first trimester. Just wondering if taking niacin is safe for the baby during pregnancy?

During my wife's pregnancy, we looked closely at her nutrition and realized she was getting enough niacin naturally through chicken, peanuts, and whole grains. There was absolutely no need for separate niacin supplements. Safe nutrition is best managed through real food rather than popping extra pills during these nine months.

Oh, I totally panicked during my first trimester when I saw niacin listed on my multivitamin bottle and started googling. My doctor calmly explained that normal prenatal vitamins contain a completely safe, low dose of niacin that the body actually needs. Just stick to your prescribed prenatals and don't take extra doses.

In our days, we didn't have all these separate vitamin tablets to worry about; we just ate a balanced diet of ragi, milk, and green vegetables. Niacin is just vitamin B3, which you get naturally from healthy meals. Eat well and leave the rest to your doctor's prescription.

Haan na, during pregnancy we get so scared of every little vitamin. Normal food items like milk and dal have it naturally, which is totally safe. Extra supplements blindly nahi lene chahiye, better to ask your gynac once, ho na.

Pregnancy makes everyone read every single ingredient on a packet like they are preparing for a UPSC exam! Don't worry too much, normal dietary niacin is totally fine. Just don't go trying those heavy bodybuilder supplements now, leave that for later!

My wife kept tracking every vitamin from A to Z during her pregnancy, which almost gave me a headache. Normal food levels of niacin are absolutely fine, but don't go buying high-dose tablets unless your doctor specifically wants you to have them.

I remember asking my gynecologist about this because my sister had recommended a vitamin B complex during my pregnancy. The doctor told me that while B3 is necessary, excessive levels can be harmful, so she wrote down a specific brand for me. I only took exactly what she prescribed.

My bhabhi was asking the same thing last month when she got pregnant. The doctor clearly told her that the standard amount in her daily multivitamin is perfectly fine, but she should not buy separate high-strength niacin bottles from the chemist.
