Is nexium safe during pregnancy?

I'm pregnant and have been suffering from severe heartburn. My doctor prescribed Nexium, but I'm always cautious about taking medications during pregnancy. Is Nexium considered safe to use when you're expecting?

Beta, during pregnancy, it is always best to avoid heavy English medicines unless it is absolutely necessary. For acidity, try drinking cool milk or chewing a little bit of saunf after your meals. If the burning is too much, ask your lady doctor before taking any tablets.

Please don't worry, acidity is very common in this phase. Just check with your doctor once before taking the pill so you can stay stress-free.

My wife had bad acidity issues combined with her fluctuating thyroid during her pregnancy. Our doctor told us that taking any acidity pill can sometimes interfere with other vital medications and nutrient absorption. Please get your regular blood tests done and let your doctor decide the safest antacid dose.

Nexium is a proton pump inhibitor, and while some doctors do prescribe it during pregnancy, you absolutely should not pop it like regular candy. Call your gynac and confirm the exact brand and dosage they recommend. Better safe than sorry when a baby is involved.

I had terrible heartburn in my second trimester and survived mostly on cold coconut water and small, frequent meals. Some days were really bad though. If your acid reflux is severe and making you throw up, please get a safe prescription from your gynaecologist instead of taking Nexium on your own.

I feel your pain, the pregnancy heartburn is literally the worst. I tried ginger tea, raising my pillows, and sleeping on my left side, which gave some relief. Honestly, don't self-medicate with Nexium; just message your doctor once because they usually have very specific safe options for expecting moms.
