Is metformin safe during pregnancy?

I have PCOS and I'm pregnant. My doctor is considering putting me on Metformin, but I'm a bit nervous about taking medication during pregnancy. Is Metformin generally considered safe during pregnancy for PCOS patients?

As someone with PCOS, I know this question is super important. Metformin is sometimes used in pregnancy, especially for gestational diabetes or PCOS, but it's a decision that HAS to be made by your OB/GYN. They weigh the benefits against any potential risks for you and the baby. Don't take advice from random sources here, please.

Oh god, pregnancy and meds are a whole new level of confusion! Meri ek dost ko toh doctor ne Metformin diya tha gestational diabetes ke liye, but her doc was very careful and monitored her closely. My advice? Your doctor is your best friend right now. Don't listen to anyone else, not even me, unless it's a doc!

When it comes to pregnancy, every single medicine decision needs to be super clear. If you're consulting at a good hospital, ask your doctor directly, very clearly, about Metformin and its safety for your specific situation. Don't hesitate to ask for a second opinion if you're still unsure.

This is a question only your gynaecologist can answer properly. If they prescribe it, they must have weighed the pros and cons for your specific health condition during pregnancy. Just stick to their advice, take the dosage exactly as told, and attend all your check-ups. That's the practical approach.

Look, with pregnancy, time is critical and so is accurate information. Don't waste time on forums for medication advice. Schedule an immediate consultation with your OB-GYN. They will assess your specific needs and risks. That's the only realistic and safe approach.

It can be prescribed sometimes, but it's crucial to discuss with your obstetrician who knows your full medical history.

Yaar, actually, it depends on the situation. Some doctors do prescribe Metformin during pregnancy, especially if there's PCOS or gestational diabetes. But it's not a blanket yes for everyone. You need to talk to your gynaecologist, they'll know your history and what's best. Don't take chances, bro.
