Is mandelic acid safe during pregnancy?

I'm pregnant and my skin has been breaking out a lot. I used mandelic acid serum before, and it worked well for me. Can I still use mandelic acid safely during pregnancy?

Oh my God, I totally panicked about every little thing I put on my skin when I was pregnant! Mandelic acid is an AHA, which is generally considered safer than BHAs like salicylic acid during pregnancy. But seriously, just confirm with your gynaecologist. Mine said it was fine in small concentrations, but every pregnancy is different.

Bhai, for anything related to pregnancy, don't ask us. Ask your doctor directly. My sister was super careful during her pregnancy and she'd verify every single thing with her gynaecologist. Better safe than sorry, you know?

Beti, during pregnancy, the skin becomes very sensitive. In our times, we just used natural things like besan, haldi, and malai for skin care. If you are using any chemical like mandelic acid, it's best to ask your lady doctor. Don't take any risks during this precious time.

Oh, I didn't even know some skincare ingredients could be unsafe during pregnancy. Is mandelic acid used for something specific? I'm curious because I'm planning to conceive soon. Should I ask my doctor about my whole skincare routine then?

For skincare ingredients during pregnancy, I'd suggest checking apps like 'Think Dirty' or 'EWG Healthy Living'. They often have good databases. But even then, cross-reference with your gynaecologist. Personal medical advice always trumps general info, especially with something so delicate.

With health, especially during pregnancy, you can't be too careful. Just like I need regular thyroid checks and doctor follow-ups, anything you apply or consume needs medical clearance. Please discuss mandelic acid use with your gynaecologist for a definitive answer.

I completely understand the anxiety around skincare during pregnancy. It's already such an emotional rollercoaster, and then worrying about every product just adds to it. It's okay to feel overwhelmed. Please consult your doctor, it will give you peace of mind and clarity.
