Is loratadine safe in pregnancy?

I'm 6 months pregnant and have been suffering from severe allergies lately. My doctor suggested Loratadine, but I'm hesitant to take any medication. Is Loratadine considered safe to use during pregnancy?

Loratadine is generally considered one of the safer antihistamines during pregnancy, often classified as Category B. My gynecologist told me it is preferred over older generation allergy meds because it doesn't cause drowsiness, but you must still get your specific dosage approved by your doctor first.

While doctors sometimes prescribe it for severe allergies, it is always best to minimize medicines during pregnancy. Trying gentle pranayama like Anulom Vilom can help ease mild nasal congestion naturally without any side effects.

I usually try to manage my allergies through clean eating and staying hydrated, but pregnancy is a different ball game. Don't take any OTC meds like loratadine without consulting your OB-GYN first.

Loratadine is generally cheap and widely available, but since it is for a pregnant lady, don't buy it over the counter to save a doctor's consultation fee. A quick visit to your doctor is worth every rupee to keep the baby safe.

For mild allergy or cold, I always prefer steam inhalation with a bit of mint or drinking warm ginger-tulsi water first. But if your allergy is very severe, please do not self-medicate with loratadine; ask your gynecologist if it is safe for you.

Pregnancy me bina doctor ki salah ke koi bhi tablet mat khana, haan? Loratadine safe maani jaati hai par fir bhi aapki doctor hi batayengi ki aapko kitni dosage leni chahiye na.

Listen, never take allergy medicines on your own when you are pregnant. Loratadine might be common, but you need to ask your doctor before swallowing any pill. Don't take chances with the baby's health.
