Is lidocaine safe during pregnancy?

I'm expecting, and my dentist wants to use a local anesthetic containing lidocaine for a dental procedure. I'm a bit nervous about any medications during pregnancy. Is lidocaine safe for pregnant women?

I completely understand the anxiety of needing dental work or a procedure during pregnancy and worrying about lidocaine. It is generally considered safe for local use, but the stress of wondering is very real. Do discuss it openly with your doctor.

Haan, local use ke liye toh safe mana jata hai pregnancy mein. Lekin hamesha apne gynecologist ko inform karna chahiye na koi bhi treatment se pehle. Woh better guide karenge.

Yes, local lidocaine is safe. Just make sure the doctor administering it knows your exact week of pregnancy.

I panicked so much when I had to get a minor skin procedure with lidocaine during my pregnancy. But my doctor reassured me that local anesthetics don't harm the baby in standard doses. It is absolutely fine, don't worry.

My wife had to get a dental cavity filled with local lidocaine during her second trimester. The dentist and gynecologist both said it's safe. Everything went fine, so don't lose sleep over it.
