Is levothyroxine safe in pregnancy?

I have hypothyroidism and just found out I'm pregnant! My doctor told me to continue my Levothyroxine, but I'm a bit concerned about taking medication during pregnancy. Is it really safe for the baby?

Haan, bilkul safe hai aur lena zaroori bhi hai pregnancy mein. Thyroid balance rehna baby ke liye bahut important hota hai na. Apne gynecologist se consult karke dose set karwa lo bas.

Hey, don't stress too much! Levothyroxine is actually super important during pregnancy to keep your thyroid levels normal for the baby. Just take it exactly as your gynecologist prescribed and you will be absolutely fine.

Yes, it is safe. I took it throughout my pregnancy, but the doctor will need to test your TSH every 4 to 6 weeks because the dose requirements often change as the baby grows. Stay in touch with your endocrinologist.

It is safe and necessary, but you must be extremely cautious with the dosage. I had minor thyroid complications, and my doctor had to adjust my levothyroxine dose three times during my pregnancy. Please don't self-medicate and always get your reports verified by your doctor.

I totally get it, taking any pill during pregnancy makes us so anxious and scared for the baby. But levothyroxine is just a hormone your body is short of, so replacing it is very safe and highly recommended by doctors.

Please do not ignore your thyroid prescription. I missed taking my thyroid pills for a few weeks during my first trimester thinking I should avoid medications, and my doctor scolded me because it is risky for the baby. Go for regular checks and take it daily.
