Is jogging or incline walking better for weight loss?

I'm trying to lose weight and regularly go to the gym. My friend told me incline walking burns more fat than jogging. Is jogging or incline walking better for weight loss, especially when time is limited?

Namaste! Both forms of movement are a blessing for the body and mind. For weight loss, choose the one that brings you joy and comfort. If jogging feels too strenuous, incline walking is a gentle yet effective path. Listen to your inner self, and remain positive on your journey. The intention matters most.

Honestly, both are good but it depends on your current fitness level and what your body can handle. Incline walking puts less stress on joints, so if you're just starting or have knee issues, it's safer. Jogging burns more calories faster. The main thing is to pick one you can do consistently, that's what will give you results without breaking your body or your wallet on physio!

I used to overthink every exercise choice, like 'am I doing the absolute BEST one?' But honestly, consistency is way more important. If jogging feels too hard or hurts your knees, incline walking is a fantastic alternative that still burns a lot of calories. Don't stress too much, just find something you enjoy and stick with it.

For pure calorie burn, jogging usually edges out incline walking because it's higher intensity. But incline walking can be great for building glute and leg strength without the impact, and it still burns significant calories, especially if you go for a longer duration. My advice? Do both! Mix it up to challenge your body differently and prevent boredom.

I would strongly advise you to speak with a doctor or a physical therapist before starting any new rigorous exercise routine. I once pushed myself too hard with jogging and ended up with knee pain that took months to recover from. Your body might respond differently. Better to get professional advice first, especially if you have any pre-existing conditions.

Incline walking is kinder on joints, and burns good calories too. Both are good choices depending on your body.

I track my workouts with my fitness watch, and I've noticed that incline walking can actually get my heart rate pretty high, almost as much as a light jog, sometimes more if the incline is steep! It really works your glutes and calves too. For calorie burn, both are good, but for less impact, incline walking is great. You can see the calorie data on apps too.

When I was trying to lose weight after my pregnancy, I actually found incline walking to be more effective for me initially because jogging hurt my knees. I started with a steep incline at a brisk pace and slowly built up. It was less impactful but still got my heart rate way up and I definitely saw results. Later, I mixed in light jogging.
