Is jardiance for weight loss?

My friend who takes Jardiance for diabetes said he's lost some weight too. I've been struggling to lose weight and heard this medicine might help. Is Jardiance for weight loss, or is that just a side effect?

Please, please do not consider Jardiance as a weight loss drug. It's a diabetes medication. I once ignored a symptom thinking it was minor and regretted it. For something like medication, especially if you don't have diabetes, taking it for weight loss could be very dangerous. Always get professional medical advice.

Jardiance is for diabetes, not a dedicated weight loss medicine. Taking medicines unnecessarily is not just risky for health, it can also be very expensive! Better to invest in a good diet and exercise plan, maybe consult a nutritionist, it's a more sustainable and safer way for weight loss than relying on prescription drugs.

As someone managing high BP, I know how important it is to take medicines only for their prescribed purpose. Jardiance is for diabetes. Any weight loss from it is a side effect, not its main job. Don't misuse serious medications. Always rely on regular checkups and doctor's advice for proper health management.

My endocrinologist specifically told me that Jardiance (empagliflozin) is for type 2 diabetes. While some patients might experience a modest weight reduction due to its mechanism of action (excreting glucose via urine), it is NOT approved or meant to be used solely as a weight loss drug. It's important to understand this distinction.

Oh, please be very careful with this. Jardiance is a diabetes medication. Using it for anything other than what it's prescribed for, especially without a doctor's approval, can have serious consequences. It's always safest to get anything health-related checked and prescribed by a qualified medical professional.

Nah man, Jardiance is for diabetes, not weight loss. Heard some people lose weight on it, but that's like a side effect. You shouldn't take a diabetes med just to get thin, that's kinda messed up. Better to hit the gym or fix your diet for weight loss, seriously.
