Is it safe to eat lunch meat during pregnancy?

I sometimes pack sandwiches with cold cuts for lunch, but a friend told me that lunch meat might not be safe during pregnancy. Is it true, or can I still eat it if it's cooked properly?

Honestly, during my pregnancy, I just avoided all kinds of processed meats or anything I wasn't 100% sure about. It was easier to just stick to freshly cooked food. I figured better safe than sorry, even if it meant missing out on some deli sandwiches.

It's a big no-no for lunch meats, yaar. The risk of Listeria is real and can be very dangerous for the baby. Just avoid it completely during pregnancy. There are so many other delicious and safe options to eat. Your baby's health comes first, so just skip it for now.

Back in my day, we didn't have so much information, but we always tried to eat fresh and home-cooked. For lunch meats, it's best to avoid. My daughter was pregnant recently, and her doctor also told her strictly no cold cuts due to bacteria. So, better to listen to the doctors and eat fresh, warm food.

Beta, for pregnant ladies, always eat freshly cooked food. These packaged lunch meats, they sit for long, and we don't know how clean they are. It's better to make your own food at home, warm and fresh. Listeria is a big danger, so avoid it completely. A simple dal-roti is much better.

I've definitely heard this one! It's one of those specific foods that gets a big red flag during pregnancy because of the risk of bacteria like Listeria. Even if it's super rare, it's better to be safe than sorry, so most advice says to skip them or heat them up really, really hot.

I totally get the craving for easy lunch options, but most doctors highly recommend avoiding lunch meats during pregnancy because of the risk of Listeria. It's just not worth taking a chance. Maybe try some freshly cooked chicken or paneer in your sandwiches instead? Stay safe, momma!

My wife's doctor specifically advised against eating lunch meats (like deli meats) during pregnancy due to the risk of Listeria, which can be very serious for the baby. They said if you absolutely must eat it, make sure it's steaming hot, which kills the bacteria. Otherwise, it's best to avoid it completely.
