Is it safe to breastfeed during pregnancy?

I'm currently breastfeeding my toddler, and we're planning for another baby. If I get pregnant again, is it safe to continue breastfeeding during the new pregnancy? My friend said it might not be good for the new baby.

Many women do breastfeed while pregnant, and often it's perfectly safe. But it's always best to check with your doctor for personalized advice.

I've actually read up on this a bit because I found it really interesting! It's called 'tandem nursing.' Most sources say it's usually safe if the pregnancy is low-risk and the mother is healthy and well-nourished. But yeah, definitely a doctor's opinion is needed.

While many sources say it's generally safe, in pregnancy, your body is already going through so much. If you have any underlying conditions like thyroid issues, it might impact your energy levels or even milk supply. So, a thorough check-up with your gynaecologist and regular follow-ups are crucial to ensure both your and baby's health are not compromised.

Oh, I didn't even know that was a possibility! It sounds really intense for the body. Does it affect the milk supply for the older child, or the nutrition for the baby inside? I hope it's safe for everyone involved. What do doctors usually say about it?

Yaar, this is a legit question! Actually, it's pretty common for some women. As long as your pregnancy is low-risk and you're getting enough nutrients for both you and baby, doctors generally say it's okay. But definitely, a proper consultation with your gynaecologist is a must. Don't take chances na!

I know a few women who did this, and they said their doctors gave them the green light because their pregnancies were normal and healthy. Personally, I didn't get pregnant while still breastfeeding, so I don't have direct experience, but it seems to be quite common if cleared by a medical professional.

Phew, women are truly superheroes, doing all this! My wife would look at me funny if I asked her to breastfeed during her next pregnancy, haha. But honestly, it sounds like a lot of demand on the body. Best to ask the lady doctor, she will know the actual energy requirements for both babies.
