Is hot and sour soup good for weight loss?

I really enjoy hot and sour soup, but I'm also trying to lose weight. Can I still have it regularly, or is it too high in calories/sodium to be good for weight loss?

Honestly, buying expensive ingredients or ordering it daily is a waste of money. If you make it at home with cheap local veggies, it is fine, but before starting any weight loss plan it is better to get basic blood tests done first. I got my thyroid and blood sugar profile done at a local lab for just 800 rupees so I know what actually works for my body.

Please be very careful with restaurant soups if you have acidity issues like I did. I drank hot and sour soup daily thinking it was healthy, but the high sodium and vinegar gave me severe stomach lining irritation. Better to ask a doctor or clinical dietitian before making it a regular habit.

It can be good if you control the cornstarch and sugar. I usually make it at home with lots of cabbage, mushrooms, and paneer or chicken for protein. Pair it with 30 minutes of daily strength training or brisk walking, and it fits perfectly into a fat-loss diet.

I tried to lose weight by just replacing meals with hot soups and ignored the constant weakness and dizziness I was feeling. It turned out my blood pressure had dropped dangerously low. Please do not just self-diagnose and start diet trends without getting a proper medical checkup first.
