Is glycolic acid safe for pregnancy?
I'm pregnant and have been using a skincare routine that includes glycolic acid for my acne. Now I'm wondering if glycolic acid is safe to continue using during pregnancy, or if I should stop?

I was doing some research on pregnancy-safe skincare and saw that glycolic acid in small percentages (like under 7-10%) is generally okay. Still, since skin changes so much during this time, it is best to be careful.
In pharmacy terms, topical glycolic acid has very low systemic absorption, so OTC creams are usually considered safe. But since pregnancy makes your skin hyper-sensitive and prone to melasma, check with your gynecologist before starting it.
While many dermatological guidelines suggest that low-concentration glycolic acid is safe during pregnancy, individual skin conditions vary. It is always best to consult your treating obstetrician before introducing any active chemical exfoliants.
I used my glycolic toner yesterday without thinking and now I am panicking. Has anyone else used it during their pregnancy without any issues? Please let me know, I am so worried.
