Is flying during pregnancy safe?

My sister is pregnant and has a business trip coming up that requires her to fly. Her mother-in-law is very worried about her flying. Is flying during pregnancy considered safe, especially for longer distances?

My pregnancy tracker app gave some tips on this! Generally, it's safe for most women with uncomplicated pregnancies in the second trimester. But always get a fit-to-fly certificate from your doctor. Also, stay hydrated and move around during the flight!

It's natural to overthink every little thing during pregnancy, especially travel! Technically, for most healthy pregnancies, flying in the second trimester is considered safest. But honestly, each pregnancy is unique, so please, please, consult your gynaecologist. Better safe than sorry for even a tiny worry.

For active, healthy pregnancies, flying generally poses minimal risk, especially mid-pregnancy. However, ensuring you stay hydrated and do light movements to prevent DVT is important. Always clear it with your OB-GYN, they'll know your specific health parameters.

I flew during my second trimester for a family wedding, and everything was perfectly fine for me. My doctor gave me a 'fit to fly' certificate. I made sure to walk around a bit and drink lots of water. But this was my experience, always ask your own doctor.

Yaar, actually it depends on your pregnancy. If it's uncomplicated, second trimester is usually okay for flying. But first and third trimesters, doctors are generally more cautious, especially for long flights. My friend had to get a proper checkup and NOC from her doc before flying, so get that done for sure.

Oh, I was so anxious about this when I was expecting! Does anyone else worry about the cabin pressure or turbulence affecting the baby? I kept imagining all sorts of things. My doctor said it's mostly fine, but I still felt a bit uneasy.
