Is fluoxetine safe in pregnancy?

I've been on Fluoxetine for a while for my depression, and now I'm planning to conceive. My psychiatrist said we need to discuss medication changes. Is Fluoxetine generally considered safe to continue during pregnancy?

This is such an important question for many. Mental health medications during pregnancy are a big concern. It's really helpful to know what the current guidelines or common practices are, but ultimately a doctor's advice is key.

Pregnancy itself is a rollercoaster, and then you add medication worries! Phew. My wife went through similar doubts. For fluoxetine, doctors have to really weigh things out. So, definitely no self-medication, and a detailed chat with your doc is a must.

Beti, pregnancy mein har dawai dekh kar leni padti hai. Jo doctor bole, wahi karna. Fluoxetine ke liye bhi, doctor se acche se baat karo. Unko sab pata hota hai. Apna aur bachche ka dhyan rakhna.

Dekho, beta. Mental health is important, especially in pregnancy. But when it comes to medicines like fluoxetine, only your lady doctor can tell you if it's okay for you. Don't listen to anyone else. Unki baat suno aur tension mat lo.

My sister had a difficult pregnancy and had to adjust her medications. For antidepressants like fluoxetine, it's crucial to have a detailed discussion with your psychiatrist and gynaecologist together. There are risks and benefits to consider, and they need to monitor you closely.

Haan, this is a tricky one. Doctors usually check the pros and cons very carefully. It's not a straight 'yes' or 'no'. So, for sure, talk to your doctor who knows your full medical history. Na khud se kuch karna.
