Is famotidine safe during pregnancy?

I'm about four months pregnant, and I've been experiencing heartburn pretty frequently. My doctor recommended an antacid, but I want to be extra careful about what I take during pregnancy. Is famotidine generally considered safe to use when pregnant?

During my pregnancy, my gestational diabetes made me very careful about every single pill. Famotidine is often prescribed for severe acidity, but you must ask your obstetrician before taking it. Don't self-medicate, especially when pregnant.

Pregnancy heartburn is the absolute worst! Famotidine is generally considered quite safe by doctors, but always double-check with your gynecologist before popping any pill. Wishing you a happy and smooth pregnancy journey!

In our days, we relied on cold milk, fennel seeds, or a small piece of jaggery to soothe acidity during pregnancy. Taking chemical medicines should always be the last option. Please check with your lady doctor before taking any such tablets.

According to most medical databases and safety trackers, Famotidine is a Category B drug, meaning it is generally considered safe. However, pregnancy physiology is unique for everyone. Better to log your symptoms and consult your doctor for a safe prescription.

Many pregnant women are prescribed this for bad reflux and they do fine. Still, please consult your doctor first to be absolutely safe for you and the baby.
