Is excedrin safe for pregnancy?

My friend, who is also pregnant, mentioned that her doctor told her to avoid certain pain relievers. I usually take Excedrin when I get a headache. Is Excedrin considered safe for pregnant women?

My wife had terrible headaches during her second trimester and we asked our doctor about Excedrin. The doctor strictly said no because it has aspirin and caffeine which can cause issues. They prescribed a plain paracetamol instead, so please talk to your gynac.

Absolutely not safe, especially without medical supervision. Excedrin contains aspirin and caffeine, both of which are regulated or restricted during pregnancy. Stop self-medicating and call your obstetrician immediately for safe alternatives.

I have to monitor my blood pressure constantly, so I know how dangerous random painkillers can be. Excedrin can affect blood flow because of the aspirin and caffeine. Get your blood pressure checked by a doctor, as headaches in pregnancy can sometimes be related to high BP.

This is a beautiful phase of life, so take gentle care of your body and the little soul inside. Please avoid taking strong medicines like Excedrin right now. Praying for your good health, please consult your doctor for any pain relief.

Listen, don't play around with over-the-counter medicines during pregnancy. Excedrin has ingredients that are not safe for the baby. Go to your doctor, tell them about your headache, and take only what they write on the prescription pad.

With a newborn crying all night, I can tell you pregnancy headaches are just the trailer. But seriously, do not take Excedrin, the aspirin in it is a big no-no for the baby. Save your energy and just call the doctor for a safe prescription so you can get some actual rest.
