Is diphenhydramine safe during pregnancy?

I'm in my first trimester and have been having a lot of allergies recently. Someone suggested diphenhydramine for relief, but I'm really careful about what I take right now. Is it safe to use this during pregnancy, ya should I avoid it completely?

For anything related to pregnancy, especially medicines, you must, must, MUST ask your gynecologist. My doctor at Fortis was very clear: never take anything without confirming with her first. They have the latest medical guidelines and know your specific health history. Please call your doctor right away.

Diphenhydramine (like in Benadryl) is sometimes considered by doctors for certain conditions during pregnancy, particularly for allergies or severe morning sickness. However, it's classified as a Category B drug, meaning animal studies haven't shown harm, but human studies are limited. It's crucial to consult your OB-GYN before taking it, as they'll weigh the benefits against potential risks for you.

Pregnancy and medicines are like oil and water, mostly. You absolutely have to ask your doc about diphenhydramine! Don't listen to us armchair experts, unless you want a baby who can teleport and glow in the dark. Better safe than super-powered, right?

Ho na, pregnancy mein medicines ka bahut dhyan rakhna padta hai. Diphenhydramine ke liye bhi, aap apne doctor se hi पूछो na. They know best what is safe for the baby and for you. Don't take any risk, haan?

Hello there! 😊 Medicines during pregnancy are super important to get right. For diphenhydramine, it's definitely best to have a chat with your doctor or gynecologist before taking it. They can tell you what's safest for you and your little one! Take care! ✨
