Our body, especially the liver, works so hard to keep us healthy. I've found that anything artificial creates an imbalance. Through yoga and mindful eating, I aim for natural things. Diet soda, with its chemicals, I personally avoid to keep my liver happy and healthy.
For diabetics, liver health is extra important because it plays a big role in sugar metabolism. While diet soda is sugar-free, some studies do suggest that artificial sweeteners can be taxing on the liver over time. I try to limit them as much as possible and stick to plain water.
Yaar, actually, I heard mixed things about diet soda and liver. Some people say it's fine since no sugar, but then others say these artificial sweeteners are not good for your system overall. Better to just avoid it if you're worried, no? Fresh juices are better.
My liver is already working overtime processing all the stress and late-night snacks. I don't need diet soda adding another mystery ingredient to its plate! Honestly, if it says 'diet' but tastes too good to be true, it probably is. Just gimme water and a nap.

From a fitness point of view, I'd say clean eating and hydration are key. Diet soda isn't exactly 'clean'. While I focus on exercise, diet plays a huge role. If your doctor allows, maybe switch to green tea or just water. Keep your liver strong!
