Is cycling good cardio for weight loss?

My doctor told me to do more cardio for weight loss. I was thinking of buying a cycle. Is cycling a good option for improving heart health and losing weight?

I just lost about 8 kgs over the last six months, and outdoor cycling was a major part of my routine. It works wonders for building stamina and burning calories without being as boring as a treadmill. It definitely works if you are consistent.

My uncle always says cycling in the fresh air is the best exercise for staying young. It is indeed a very good cardio workout for weight loss, but I always suggest consulting your doctor first if you have any joint or back issues before starting.

I totally get it, finding a cardio workout that doesn't feel like a chore is so hard when you're trying to lose weight. Cycling is actually very enjoyable and much easier on the feet than running, so it's a great option to start with.

It is great cardio, plus it gives you a valid excuse to wear those funny padded shorts! Jokes apart, it really burns those stubborn calories and is much better than crying on a treadmill every morning. Go for it!

Cycling is awesome cardio, but the problem is it makes me so incredibly hungry! I ride for 40 minutes and then immediately crave a butter naan or chole bhature, which ruins the whole point. You have to control your food cravings after riding!

I am thinking of starting cycling for weight loss, but I am a bit shy to go on the busy roads near my house. Do you think a stationary gym cycle gives the same weight loss benefits as riding outside?
