Is creatine good or bad for weight loss?

I'm trying to lose some weight and get fitter. Some people say creatine helps, while others say it makes you gain water weight. So, for weight loss, is creatine generally considered good or bad?

It is neither good nor bad, it simply has a different purpose. Creatine helps you lift heavier in the gym, but it also causes water retention, so the weighing scale won't show weight loss. For losing weight, just cut down on sugar and do regular walks.

Let's be clear: creatine is for muscle strength and recovery, not a fat burner. If you want to lose fat, you need a calorie deficit, period. You can take creatine to preserve muscle while losing fat, but only if your diet is already on point.

My elders always tell me to avoid modern powders and focus on ragi and buttermilk for fitness. However, I asked my doctor and he explained that creatine safe for workouts if you have no kidney issues. Always trust professional medical advice over gym gossip.

Bro, don't stress too much about these fitness trends. Creatine is just a supplement to give you a bit more energy during heavy lifting. If your main goal is just shedding some extra kilos, a clean diet and regular sweat sessions are more than enough!

I was thinking of taking it but got scared that it would make me look bloated. Did anyone else experience face puffiness or sudden weight gain on the scale after starting creatine? I'm really confused if I should buy it.

My college-going son wanted to buy creatine for his weight routine, but I made him visit our family doctor first. The doctor explained that while it's okay for strength, it holds water in the body, which isn't ideal if you just want to slim down. Do check with a doctor first.
