Is cramping normal in early pregnancy?

I just got a positive pregnancy test, only 4 weeks. I've been feeling these very light, almost period-like cramps for a day or so. Is this kind of cramping typical in the really early stages of pregnancy?

Yeah, my elder sister went through this recently. She thought she was getting her periods but it was just early pregnancy cramps. Totally normal from what I know.

My mother-in-law told me it is normal because the womb is growing. But I still called my doctor to confirm, and she reassured me it was fine. Trusting your doctor will give you the best peace of mind.

I remember crying out of fear thinking I would lose the baby when the cramps started. But they were just normal stretching pains. It is a very scary feeling, so please talk to someone if you feel overwhelmed.

It is quite common. I used to drink lukewarm water and lie down on my side to get relief. Just avoid using hot water bags on your stomach during this time as it is not recommended.

While mild cramps can be normal, please be extremely careful. I had severe cramps in my early weeks which turned out to be an ectopic pregnancy. If the pain is sharp or you feel dizzy, see your doctor immediately.

Yes beta, this is normal as the body prepares. Eat light, warm home-cooked meals and rest as much as possible. Do not strain yourself with heavy housework.

With PCOS, we always worry about every little symptom. Mild cramping is common, but because our bodies are sensitive, it's always best to have a quick word with your doctor to stay stress-free.
