Is corn on cob good for weight loss?

I'm trying to cut down on junk food and eat healthier to lose a few kilos. I like snacking on corn on the cob, but I'm not sure if it helps with weight loss or if it's just empty calories.

Honestly, chewing on a corn cob takes so much effort that you probably burn half the calories while eating it. But seriously, it is starchy, so don't go eating three cobs a day expecting to lose weight. Keep it to one small roasted bhutta.

In our younger days, eating a roasted corn on the cob (bhutta) with a rub of lemon and black salt was the traditional way to stay full without eating heavy greasy snacks. It has natural fiber which cleans the stomach. Avoid the boiled ones with butter.

A fresh corn on the cob costs barely 15-20 rupees locally, making it a very cheap and healthy evening snack compared to expensive diet foods. It fills your stomach nicely, so you won't spend money on unhealthy biscuits later.

Hamare yahan toh khet se taaza bhutta tod kar aag pe sekte hain. Yeh pet ko achhi tarah se bharta hai aur nuksan bhi nahi karta. Diet wali cheezon ke peeche mat bhago, yeh sadha bhutta hi sabse badhiya hai.

My general practitioner mentioned that corn on the cob has a good amount of insoluble fiber which helps digestion, but it is also high in starches. She advised eating it in the afternoon as a snack rather than at night, and always without butter for weight management.

I am just starting my weight loss journey and I'm a bit confused. I love eating roasted corn on the cob in the evenings, but is it okay to eat it with a little salt, or will the sodium cause water retention and slow down my progress?

Corn on the cob is a whole food, which is great, but as a vegetarian who watches carbs, I treat it as a carb source rather than a free vegetable. If you eat it, reduce the rotis or rice in your main meal to keep your daily macros balanced.

I tried everything from honey-lemon water to herbal teas for weight loss, and honestly, a simple roasted bhutta is great for controlling evening hunger pangs. It is high in fiber and keeps you satisfied, but remember to drink plenty of water after some time.
