Is cassava good for weight loss?

I'm trying to manage my weight and looking for new food options to include in my diet. Someone suggested cassava is good for weight loss. Is this true, and how can I include it?

In my long life, I have seen many root vegetables being called weight loss secrets. But the truth is, cassava is high in calories and starch, very similar to our local sweet potato. Eating a balanced diet with regular walking is what really works.

Cassava is often sold as a fancy, expensive gluten-free superfood in big supermarkets. But for weight loss, you don't need to spend extra money on imported roots. Simple, locally available vegetables and portion control are much lighter on your wallet.

I recently lost 8 kgs by cutting down on high-carb root vegetables, including cassava. It is very filling, but the high carbohydrate content makes it difficult to maintain a calorie deficit. Swapping it for leafy greens worked wonders for me.

Please be very careful with raw or improperly cooked cassava, as it can contain naturally occurring compounds that release cyanide if not prepared correctly. I had a bad stomach infection from it once. Always consult a dietician before making major dietary changes.

Hey, don't stress too much about adding exotic things like cassava to your diet for weight loss. Just stick to your normal home-cooked dal, roti, and sabzi, but control the portion sizes. It is way easier and actually works!

If eating heavy, starchy roots helped with weight loss, I would have been thin years ago from eating potatoes! Cassava is very calorie-dense, so unless you are running marathons, it might actually make you gain weight.
