Is cardio necessary for weight loss?

I'm trying to shed a few kilos before my cousin's wedding. Someone told me diet is 80% and exercise is 20%. So, if I control my eating, do I really need to do cardio for weight loss?

Not at all necessary, but it definitely helps! Diet is the main hero for weight loss. You can just do strength training or even daily dancing if you find normal cardio boring. Keep smiling and enjoy the process!

Whatever exercise you choose, listen to your body first. I ignored heavy breathing during basic walks thinking it was just low stamina, and it turned out to be a heart issue. Please get a proper health checkup done before starting any weight loss routine.

Actually yaar, it's not compulsory at all. Diet control is what matters most for losing weight. I lost like 5 kgs just by cutting down junk and walking. Heavy gym wala cardio is overrated, honestly.

For diabetic people like me, regular movement is necessary to manage insulin levels, but cardio isn't the only way. Even resistance band exercises or a light walk after meals help. Just be careful with diet; no amount of exercise can compensate for high sugar intake.

No, cardio is not strictly necessary for fat loss, as weight loss primarily requires a caloric deficit. However, cardiovascular health is vital for longevity. I highly suggest consulting a certified fitness professional or your physician to design a balanced routine that works for your body.

I am quite new to fitness, but I find running very difficult. Is it okay if I just do slow walking every day instead? Will that still help me lose weight, or do I have to do proper gym cardio to see any difference?
