Is butter good for weight loss?

I'm trying to gain some healthy weight, and my gym trainer suggested adding good fats to my diet. Some people say butter is bad, but others say it's fine. Is butter actually good for weight loss, or is that a misunderstanding?

In all my years of trying different diets, I've realized that no food is entirely good or bad. Butter is fine in tiny quantities, like half a teaspoon on your idli occasionally, but it won't help you lose weight. Focus on eating more fiber and staying active instead.

With thyroid-related slow metabolism, eating high-calorie foods like butter made me gain weight very quickly. I would suggest getting your thyroid levels checked if you're struggling to lose weight. Always consult your endocrinologist before starting any high-fat diets.

We used to eat home-churned butter every single day when we were young, but we also did heavy physical work. For modern weight loss, you must reduce butter because we sit all day at desks. Don't stress too much, just limit the portion and walk more.

Our elders always said that fresh, homemade white butter is good for joints and strength, but only in small quantities. For weight loss, you can have a little homemade butter, but avoid the salted store-bought ones. Drink lukewarm water with lemon in the morning to keep digestion good.

I tried a high-fat keto diet with lots of butter for weight loss and ended up with severely high cholesterol and gallbladder issues. Please do not follow internet trends blindly. Go to a qualified doctor or clinical nutritionist to get a diet plan that is safe for your body.

I used to get so stressed about every single calorie and wondered if even a tiny bit of butter would make me fat. It's completely normal to feel confused with so much conflicting advice online. Just try to eat balanced meals and don't obsess over cutting out butter completely.

From a practical standpoint, butter is very calorie-dense—about 717 calories per 100 grams. If you are on a weight loss plan, it's very easy to overshoot your calorie budget with butter. Use it very sparingly and prioritize proteins and veggies.
