Is avalakki good for weight loss?

I'm trying to lose some weight, and my nutritionist suggested I include more fibre in my diet. I love avalakki (poha), but I'm not sure if it's actually good for weight loss. Can someone tell me if avalakki helps with reducing weight?

In our home, we eat avalakki regularly. My mother always said it is very light on the stomach, and my doctor also agreed that it is a healthy, low-calorie breakfast option if you don't use too much oil or peanuts.

People online will tell you that eating avalakki will miraculously melt fat, but that's not true. It is just a carbohydrate source. Portion control is what actually matters, so better consult a clinical nutritionist before blindly replacing your meals.

It is a very pure and simple food that is easy to digest. Eating simple, home-cooked meals like avalakki with a calm mind keeps our body healthy and light. Take care of your health.

I am planning to start a diet from next week. Is white avalakki better or should I look for the red/brown variety for weight loss? Also, how many times a week is it safe to eat?

Look, avalakki is definitely good because it's light and easy to make, but don't dump half a cup of oil and tons of fried peanuts in it. Keep it simple with lots of veggies, otherwise it won't help you lose any weight.

Honestly, Indori poha is my absolute love! It can be great for weight loss because it keeps you full for a long time, but my problem is I can't resist adding a mountain of sev on top. If you can control that craving, go for it!
