Is aspirin safe during pregnancy?

My cousin, who is pregnant, has been advised to take baby aspirin by her doctor. I always thought aspirin was a no-no during pregnancy, so I'm a bit confused. Is aspirin actually safe for pregnant women?

Honestly, I can only tell you what happened with me. My doctor specifically put me on a very low-dose aspirin during my second semester because of my BP history, but she told me never to take normal over-the-counter ones. Please check with your gynaecologist before taking even a single tablet.

During pregnancy, we must be extremely careful with English medicines, beta. For minor pains or headaches, it is better to rest in a dark room, drink warm ginger water, or apply a little ginger paste on your forehead. Do not touch aspirin or any such tablet without asking your doctor first.

My wife was prescribed a low dose of this during her pregnancy under strict observation because of some blood flow issues, but they stopped it well before the delivery date. It really depends on your specific case. Please don't take it on your own; keep your doctor in the loop for everything.

I had a very high-risk pregnancy and my doctor strictly monitored all my medicines. Aspirin is not something you can just take for a simple headache when you are pregnant. If you are having pain or any discomfort, go see your doctor immediately and let them prescribe a safe alternative.

Please don't go by what people say on internet forums for something as serious as pregnancy safety. Some people will say yes and some will say no, which is very dangerous. Call your doctor directly and ask, as aspirin has blood-thinning properties that only a medical expert should evaluate for you.

I always believe in avoiding medicines as much as possible, especially during such a crucial phase. If you are feeling uneasy or having mild body aches, try doing some light stretching or a gentle 15-minute walk if your doctor has allowed physical activity. But for aspirin, definitely get a green light from your doc first.
