Is 10000 steps a day good for weight loss?

My doctor suggested I increase my physical activity for weight loss. I heard somewhere that 10,000 steps a day is good. Is this actually effective for losing weight, or just a myth?

10000 steps is a common recommendation, but don't blindly follow it for weight loss. What works for one might not work for another. It's better to consult a doctor or a fitness expert who can give you a personalized plan that includes diet and exercise, not just steps.

I totally get why you'd be looking for simple ways to lose weight! 10000 steps is generally a great goal for overall health and can definitely help with weight loss when combined with a balanced diet. Consistency is key, even if you start with less and build up.

Walking is always beneficial for the body and mind, a form of active meditation. 10000 steps is a good goal for general health and can contribute to weight loss gently. Combine it with mindful eating and some pranayama for holistic well-being.
