How to take topiramate for weight loss?

I heard about topiramate for weight loss and was thinking of asking my doctor. How is this medication usually taken? Is it once a day or multiple times?

Honestly, even my doctor suggested this but I am too scared to start it. I read somewhere that it can make you feel super dizzy and forgetful. Has anyone else felt this brain fog after starting it? Pls let me know, I'm literally overthinking this every day.

Please be very careful with topiramate. My doctor prescribed it to me last year for weight management, but I had terrible tingling in my hands and felt very weak within a week. I had to stop it immediately after consulting him. Do not take this without a proper doctor's prescription and regular checkups.

I completely understand why you are asking this; reading up on these prescription meds can make anyone super anxious. It is completely normal to feel worried about how your body will react. Just remember that only a qualified doctor can give you the right dosage based on your weight and health history, so schedule a proper visit with them first.

Hey there! My doctor had put me on this for a bit. Usually, they start with a very low dose at night so you don't feel sleepy during the day. Just drink lots of water and don't skip your meals! 😊 It works well when you combine it with a little walking.

This is a heavy medicine, and it is always better to let the body heal naturally. When I was struggling with weight, I started slow breathing exercises like Anulom Vilom and light yoga. It helps calm your mind and controls those sudden emotional hunger pangs. If you must take it, please follow your doctor's advice carefully.
