How to restart weight loss after gastric bypass?

I had gastric bypass surgery a while ago and lost a lot of weight initially, but now it feels like I've hit a plateau. My weight loss has completely stopped. How can I restart weight loss after gastric bypass?

I ignored a stall and some digestion discomfort after my procedure, which led to nutritional deficiencies later. Please visit your bariatric surgeon or clinic team for a proper checkup before trying any sudden diets to kickstart weight loss.

Look, gastric bypass is a major tool, not a magic wand. If weight loss has stopped, you need to track your daily protein intake and go back to the basic eating guidelines your hospital team gave you. No shortcuts.

Beta, focus on eating small portions of simple, warm home-cooked meals like thin dal and boiled vegetables. Avoid any dry or heavy food that strains your stomach, and always follow your doctor's instructions.

I know how incredibly stressful and disappointing it feels when the weight scale stops moving after such a big surgery. It can really affect your mental peace, but please don't lose heart. Talk to your bariatric team, they can help you reset safely.

Completely agree with tracking protein. Increasing daily water intake away from meal times is also key.

My cousin went through this stall post-surgery. What worked for him was strictly tracking fluid intake and ensuring he wasn't drinking water with his meals, as that can expand the pouch. Do get in touch with your dietitian.

Since I have thyroid issues, my metabolism is slow and I require regular hormonal checkups to understand weight patterns. When managing post-surgery stalls, getting your blood panel checked by your doctor is very important to ensure everything is balanced.
