How to relieve pain from dental implant?
Just got a dental implant a couple of days ago, and there's still quite a bit of soreness and a dull ache. The dentist said it's part of the healing, but I'm looking for ways to make it more bearable.

Mild to moderate pain is quite normal for the first few days after an implant surgery as the bone heals. Applying a cold pack on your cheek helps immensely with the swelling and discomfort. However, for the correct pain relief dosage and to ensure there is no infection, always stick strictly to your dentist's prescription.
Yaar, dental implant pain is so irritating, actually I could not eat anything solid for three days. My doctor told me to have only cold things like ice cream and cold milk, which really helped numb the pain. Avoid hot spicy food completely for a few days, it makes the throbbing much worse.
I had an implant done last semester and honestly, sleeping with two pillows to keep my head elevated really helped reduce the throbbing at night. Also, don't use a straw to drink anything because the suction pressure can mess up the healing site. Just stick to soft, cold foods for a bit.
I got my implant done at Manipal Hospital and the surgeon gave me a very clear chart of what to do. He mentioned that if the pain increases after 3-4 days instead of decreasing, it could indicate an issue. Please call your clinic and ask them clearly if your current pain levels are normal.
Don't spit forcefully or rinse your mouth vigorously because it can disturb the stitches around the implant. From the second day, you can do very gentle warm saltwater gargles by just letting the water sit in your mouth and spitting it out softly. It is cheap, safe, and keeps the area clean.
Implant pain can be tough but it gets much better after day four. Just take your prescribed painkillers on time and don't skip them.

Since I have high blood pressure, dental pain makes me anxious which can spike my readings. I make sure to take my BP medicines on time and rest in a quiet room to keep my heart rate normal. Always let your dentist know about your medical conditions before taking any pain relief tablets.
Currently awake at 3 AM because of this dental throbbing, so I feel your pain deeply. The ice pack is my only best friend right now, and I've watched three movies trying to distract myself. Just take the med your doctor gave and pray the anesthesia of sleep hits you soon!
