How to ketosis for weight loss?

I've heard about ketosis being very effective for losing weight, but I don't really understand how it works or how to get into it safely. Can someone explain how to achieve ketosis for weight loss? What foods are involved?

Ketosis is when your body uses fat for fuel, not carbs. Sounds cool, right? But oh god, the cravings for my favourite biryani or a cheesy dosa during the initial phase are SO real! It's a very strict diet, so you really have to love your greens and fats.

Achieving ketosis means significantly cutting down on carbohydrates, usually below 20-50g per day, and increasing healthy fats. This can be time-consuming to plan meals for. It's effective for quick weight loss but requires meticulous tracking, so be prepared for that commitment.

I've heard about ketosis but I'm a bit confused. Does it mean no rice or rotis at all? And what kind of fats are considered 'healthy' in this diet? Is it difficult to sustain in India?

Beta, many diets come and go. Ketosis is a method where you eat very few carbohydrates. It can work for some, but consistency is key. Don't rush; find what suits your body long-term. Small, sustainable changes are usually better for lasting health.

Ketosis happens when your body burns fat for energy because it doesn't have enough carbs. To get there, you need a very low-carb, high-fat diet. Also, combine it with exercise like brisk walking or jogging, but make sure your body adapts first and always check with a doc if it suits you.

Achieving ketosis was really tough for me initially. The carb withdrawal made me so irritable and tired. It felt like an emotional rollercoaster. If you're going for it, be prepared for that adjustment period and don't feel bad if it's hard. It does get better, but it's a struggle.
