How to help dizziness in early pregnancy?

I just found out I'm pregnant, and I've been feeling dizzy very often, especially when I stand up quickly. It's a bit concerning. Is this normal in early pregnancy and what can I do to help with this dizziness?

Early pregnancy turns your body into a dramatic Bollywood movie with all the head-spinning! Don't worry, just keep some lemon candies handy and get up from the bed very slowly like a queen, no sudden moves.

Sometimes dizziness is due to low hemoglobin or sugar levels, so check with your doctor if you need a basic blood count test. You can compare test rates on different lab apps to get a good discount, and plan your maternity expenses early.

Dizziness is quite common in the first trimester as blood vessels expand, but you must stay well-hydrated. Keep drinking water, coconut water, or ORS in small sips throughout the day, and never stand up too quickly from a lying position.

While mild lightheadedness can happen due to hormonal changes, it is essential to mention this to your obstetrician during your prenatal visit. They will check your blood pressure and iron levels to ensure there is no underlying issue like anemia.

Honestly, between the dizziness and the constant sleep deprivation, my brain is permanently in a fog. My only advice is to sleep whenever you get a chance, let the housework pile up, your body is doing heavy work right now!

If your doctor has cleared you for light activity, a very gentle 15-minute walk in the fresh air can improve your blood circulation and help reduce dizziness. But please listen to your body, if you feel unstable, sit down immediately.

During my pregnancy, gentle deep breathing or Anulom Vilom in a seated position helped stabilize my mind and body when I felt faint. Just sit quietly for five minutes, breathe slowly, and make sure your room is well-ventilated.

When my wife was expecting, her dizziness kept us both on our toes all the time. The best remedy we found was keeping small snacks like glucose biscuits or roasted chana near the bed so she could eat before even getting up.

It is completely normal to feel dizzy in the early weeks, please take plenty of rest and don't exert yourself.

I had some dizzy spells in my second month and immediately called my hospital helpline. The doctor clearly explained that my blood pressure was slightly on the lower side and advised me on lifestyle changes. Please ask your gynecologist clearly about this.

Please do not ignore severe or persistent dizziness during early pregnancy. I once brushed it off as normal morning sickness, but it was actually severe dehydration and low blood pressure that required hospital admission. Get it checked by your gynecologist.

Yes, I also faced this during my first few weeks. Eating small meals every two hours instead of three large ones helped keep my blood sugar levels steady.
