How to avoid holiday weight gain?

The holiday season is coming up, and last year, I ended up gaining so much weight with all the celebrations and food. I don't want to repeat that this year. What are some practical tips to avoid gaining weight during the festive period?

Portion control is everything, especially during festivals when there are so many delicious treats. I try to fill half my plate with salads or veggies first. And be mindful of hidden sugars in drinks and sweets.

While it's about moderation, if you find yourself excessively gaining weight or struggling to control cravings, it might be worth speaking to a nutritionist or even your doctor to rule out any underlying issues. Don't just dismiss it.

Holiday weight gain? I'm already gaining weight from lack of sleep! But seriously, I try to balance the heavy meals with lighter ones. Like, if Diwali dinner was huge, next day is just dal chawal, maybe. Still, the extra ladoos always find their way to my tummy.

Ho na, the struggle is real with all the mithai and snacks! I try to keep up with my morning walks, even if it's just for 15-20 minutes. And drink lots of water, that helps with feeling full, haan na?

For me, managing BP means watching salt and sugar, which helps with weight too. During holidays, I still try to stick to my routine for exercise and check my blood pressure regularly. Small indulgences are fine, but don't derail your overall health management.

Girl, don't stress too much about it! Holidays are for enjoying. Just try to move a bit more, maybe dance at parties, or go for walks. And it's okay to indulge a little, just don't go overboard every single day. You can always get back on track later!

The key is damage control, not deprivation. Try to get your workouts in, even if shorter. Focus on protein and fiber before hitting the sweets. And definitely avoid liquid calories like sodas. It's about smart choices, not sacrificing fun.
