How much protein is good for weight loss?

I'm starting a new diet plan to lose some weight. My gym trainer said to increase protein but didn't give a specific number. What's considered a 'good' amount of protein for someone trying to lose weight?

For safe weight loss, an average adult should aim for about 1.2 to 1.5 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight. Make sure you keep your hydration levels high as your body works to process the extra protein.

I used to feel so defeated when I worked out daily but still felt constantly hungry and gained weight back. Upping my protein to about 70g daily was a total game-changer for my appetite and my peace of mind.

My grandmother always said to drink thick buttermilk and eat ragi for strength. However, for my weight loss, my doctor advised keeping protein at 1.2g per kg, which has worked beautifully for me.

I focus on getting about 1.2g of protein per kg for healthy weight management. Since I am diabetic, I strictly avoid any protein powders with artificial sweeteners and stick to natural paneer or roasted chana.
