Hey, the standard starting dose is 0.25 mg once a week for the first month to let your stomach adjust. I'm on it right now and my doctor slowly bumped me to 0.5 mg. Definitely don't jump to higher doses directly, the nausea is no joke.
My doctor suggested starting with 0.25 mg, but I am so scared of the side effects like stomach pain and vomiting. Has anyone else felt super nervous before taking their first shot? How did you manage?
From what I have researched, the medical guidelines say to start at 0.25 mg once a week for 4 weeks, then increase to 0.5 mg. It can go up to 1 mg or 2 mg depending on how your body tolerates it, but it should strictly be monitored by a doctor.
Please be very careful! Ozempic is a major medication and starting too high can really hurt your kidneys and pancreas. Please go to a proper endocrinologist who can run blood tests first and prescribe the exact starting dose for you safely.
