How much does blood pressure drop with weight loss?

I have high blood pressure, and my doctor told me losing weight could help manage it. I'm curious about the impact. How much does blood pressure usually drop with significant weight loss?

Yaar, my doc always says weight loss makes a big difference to BP. Actually, for every 1 kg you lose, your systolic BP (the top number) can drop by about 1 mmHg. So if you lose 10 kgs, that's like a 10 mmHg drop! It's quite significant, especially if you have high BP. Better than taking medicines sometimes, no?

I track my BP with my smart watch and a dedicated app. My doctor explained that losing even 5-10% of your body weight can significantly reduce blood pressure. For every 1 kg loss, it can drop by about 1 mmHg for both systolic and diastolic, sometimes even more. It's really motivating to see those numbers come down with consistent effort!

I'm always a bit anxious about my health numbers. Does blood pressure really drop a lot with just a little weight loss? My doctor said it helps, but I'm curious if others saw a noticeable difference. Like, for every few kilos, how much did it change for you guys?

My doctor explained this in detail. For every 1 kilogram (about 2.2 pounds) of weight lost, both systolic (top number) and diastolic (bottom number) blood pressure can decrease by approximately 1 mmHg. This can be substantial; for instance, losing 10 kg could potentially reduce your BP by 10 mmHg, which is a very healthy improvement and can even reduce the need for medication in some cases.

Haan, bilkul! Weight loss ka toh direct connection hai BP se. Mera mama ji ne 15 kg kam kiya, aur unka BP kaafi control mein aa gaya. Doctors kehte hain na, har ek kilo kam karne par 1 mmHg BP kam ho sakta hai. Bahut fark padta hai, asli mein!
