How many macros for weight loss?

I'm trying to lose some weight and my gym trainer mentioned tracking 'macros'. I'm a bit new to this concept. Can someone tell me, generally, how many macros (protein, carbs, fats) should one aim for weight loss?

I'm also new to this macros thing. I heard it's about balancing protein, carbs, and fats. So, like, is there a specific ratio that works for everyone for weight loss, or does it vary a lot?

Hey there! 👋 For weight loss with macros, it's usually about being in a calorie deficit first! Then, having higher protein is generally recommended (like 30-40%), moderate carbs (30-40%), and healthy fats (20-30%). But everyone is different, so listening to your body is key! ✨

For weight loss, it's not just about macros, but also the quality of food and mindful eating. A balanced diet with good protein, whole carbs, and healthy fats is important. Pairing this with consistent yoga and pranayama can truly aid in sustainable weight management.

Be very careful with macro counting, especially for weight loss. I tried a very strict diet once and ended up with nutrient deficiencies. It's always best to consult a registered dietitian or a doctor. They can give you a personalized plan that won't harm your health.

For weight loss, balancing macros is important, but for someone with diabetes like me, the type of carbs and their glycemic index matters even more. Less refined carbs, more protein and fiber are generally good. Always discuss your diet plan with your doctor or a dietician.

I totally get it, trying to figure out macros can be confusing! There's no one-size-fits-all, but generally for weight loss, focus on enough protein to preserve muscle, then balance carbs and fats based on your activity level. A slight calorie deficit is crucial.

The macro ratio for weight loss is highly individual, depending on your body type, activity, and goals. When I visit my hospital, the nutritionists always emphasize asking about personalized macro targets. Don't just follow general advice; get a clear plan from a professional.
