How long does stroke recovery take?

My husband recently had a stroke, and we're trying to understand the recovery process. The doctors have started therapy, but we are anxious. How long does the full recovery from a stroke generally take?

Stroke recovery is a long journey, yaar. Physical therapy and consistent effort are key. Diet also plays a huge role; focus on nutrient-dense foods and cut out processed stuff. Staying active, even with light movements, helps a lot over time.

Honestly, it's so different for everyone, you can't really put a timeline on it. The main thing is staying consistent with therapies and having a good support system. It can feel overwhelming, but small improvements add up. Be patient with yourself or your loved one.

It takes time, my dear. My aunt had a stroke and for many months, even a year, she was doing physiotherapy. Our family always encouraged her, but we followed exactly what the doctor said. Every person's body is different, so please trust the medical professionals for guidance.

Patience is important, beta. Recovery from a stroke is not a race, it is a marathon. It can take months, sometimes even years, to regain full function or to adapt to new abilities. Just focus on one day at a time, and celebrate every small victory. You will get there.
