How long does a liver transplant procedure take?

My uncle is very ill and the doctors are suggesting a liver transplant. I'm so worried about him, can anyone tell me how long this kind of operation usually takes?

Honestly, liver transplants are very complex procedures, and the time can vary a lot. My uncle had some complications during his surgery which extended the time considerably. Please, if you or someone you know is going for this, discuss all possibilities with the doctor beforehand.

Hmm, a liver transplant, that sounds super intense! Can't imagine going without food for that long before and during such a long procedure. But on a serious note, recovery is key, focus on that amazing post-op diet plan! I hope it all goes well for whoever is getting it.

Yo, my uncle's friend had one last year. He said it was like 8-10 hours in the OT. Super long, haan? But he's doing much better now. So yeah, it's a full-day thing almost.

Hi there! I think it really depends on the patient and the specific case. I've heard it can be anywhere from 6 to 12 hours, sometimes more. It's a major surgery, so doctors take their time to ensure everything is perfect. Best to ask the surgeon directly for an estimate.

This is a very serious question. From what I understand, it's a long surgery, usually several hours. But the exact duration will be unique to each person's condition. It's always best to get all the details from the medical team handling the case.

A liver transplant is a marathon, not a sprint. The procedure itself can take many hours. Post-surgery, recovery and getting back to light activity like walking, if allowed by the doctors, is super important for healing. Wish the patient strength!
